About TRICOM

Most self-defense gear is designed by people who sell gear. Ours is chosen, and in many cases designed, by people who teach others to survive violent encounters.

TRICOM was founded by Jared Wihongi, a close-quarters combat instructor who has trained since 1994 and works with law enforcement, military, and special operations units around the world. Today the TRICOM Self-Defense & Combat System is taught by a worldwide network of certified instructors to law enforcement, military, security professionals, and civilians.

Why this shop exists

Training only works if the tools hold up under pressure. Every item here has been tested in real training environments, and many were built in direct collaboration with Jared, including the Fox Wihongi knife line, the Halfbreed Blades CCK-03 and CQB-02, and the Bastinelli Manaia.

If it's in this shop, we trust it and we use it ourselves.

Train with it

Gear is half the equation. Our online courses teach you how to carry, deploy, and fight with these tools.
